Stefon Diggs Still Confident in His Abilities as a Top WR2

Former New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs, now 32, believes he still has significant potential on the field. Though no longer the All-Pro pass-catcher he was from 2018 to 2023, Diggs remains a free agent after his release following the Super Bowl. Nonetheless, he is optimistic about his prospects in the NFL.

In a video shared on his YouTube channel, Diggs expressed confidence in his performance abilities. “I can compete with anybody,” he stated. However, he emphasized that while others might hold the No. 1 spot, he considers himself the best No. 2 receiver available. “Name a No. 2 better than me,” he challenged.

Diggs’ recent season saw him record 85 catches for 1,013 yards and four touchdowns. This marked his seventh season surpassing 1,000 yards, as well as the seventh time achieving 80 or more catches. His consistent performance makes him a sought-after player as training camps approach.

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, at least five teams have expressed interest in Diggs as camps draw near. Fowler noted that even after an ACL tear and limited playtime, Diggs delivered over 1,000 yards last season. Diggs believes his offseason training, now uninhibited by injury, will enhance his performance.

While no specific teams were named by Fowler, the Indianapolis Colts, Kansas City Chiefs, Las Vegas Raiders, New York Giants, and Washington Commanders are considered potential fits for Diggs. The Washington Commanders, having parted ways with Deebo Samuel, are in need of a reliable counterpart to Terry McLaurin. Current contenders for the Commanders’ WR2 position include Dyami Brown, Treylon Burks, and rookie Antonio Williams.
