Trump Criticizes Media and Warns of Potential Military Actions Against Iran

President Donald Trump accused the media of undermining the U.S. military efforts against Iran. During an interview with conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt, Trump criticized what he called ‘fake news’ for supporting Iran by providing favorable coverage. He argued that the Iranian military has been severely weakened but still receives sympathetic news portrayals.

Trump specifically targeted The New York Times, claiming the paper suggested Iran is in a better position now than before U.S. and Israeli military actions. ‘They have no Navy, no Air Force, no military capability,’ Trump said. He also mentioned inflation in Iran, reportedly jumping from 5% to 301%, criticizing any reports claiming Iran is in a better situation since his campaign began.

Though Trump did not specify the Times article he referred to, his criticisms against the media came amid renewed U.S.-Iran tensions. He warned of impending American military attacks after recent missile and drone exchanges. ‘We’re going to hit them very hard tonight, and tomorrow,’ he stated, emphasizing that Iran would face further military pressure.

One potential target mentioned by Trump is the Pickaxe Mountain complex, near Iran’s Natanz nuclear site. This heavily fortified area might be targeted soon, he indicated. Trump asserted that U.S. surveillance shows no resumed nuclear activity in the area.

Pickaxe Mountain houses tunnel complexes reportedly beyond the reach of typical bunker-buster bombs. No International Atomic Energy Agency inspectors have accessed the site, though satellite imagery showed activity nearby.

Trump expressed distrust in Iran’s leadership, suggesting that if they ever acquired a nuclear weapon, they might use it immediately. His comments coincided with U.S. Central Command announcing a renewed blockade on vessels entering or leaving Iranian ports, specifying that humanitarian shipments would be allowed.
