A shooting incident on Tuesday in Mundelein resulted in one man dead and a woman critically injured, according to Lake County authorities. Two suspects are currently in custody. The police have not yet disclosed the identities involved but suggest that this might be a targeted domestic issue.
Police responded to a call about the shooting at an apartment situated in the 500 block of Deepwoods Drive around 11:40 a.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered a deceased man and a woman with a potentially life-threatening gunshot wound. She was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center located in Libertyville.
Mundelein officers managed to obtain a detailed description of a vehicle linked to the shooting. An Illinois State Police officer later stopped the vehicle near the Indiana state line, leading to the arrest of a man and a woman, as stated by the task force involved.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
