Severe weather on Sunday led to the hospitalization of four guests at Six Flags Over Georgia when a tree fell near the park’s entrance in Austell, Georgia. As powerful storms swept through the area, medical personnel and local emergency services responded to those struck by the tree.
The guests were taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation. At the time of the incident, the National Weather Service had issued a severe thunderstorm warning for metro Atlanta. Despite the chaos, the identities of the injured have not been released, and there are no updates on their conditions.
A Facebook video reveals emergency response efforts, with fire trucks and ambulances dispatched to the scene. The video captured the atmosphere of what began as a “relaxing day” turning tense as guests exited the park amid the storm.
The person who posted the video mentioned, “Prayers for the people that were hurt.”
During the storm, a Reddit post suggested a large tree also fell on the Mindbender roller coaster track. However, the post mentioned, “It didn’t look like the track was bent.” Six Flags has not confirmed any damage to the rides or park operations.
A recent similar incident involved another severe weather event at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, where wind caused a cabana frame to collapse, injuring five individuals at the DAER Club rooftop.
Videos from that event showed guests and staff working together to remove the fallen frame and assist those trapped. All injured parties were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
