A Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) passenger suffered injuries from glass fragments when a train window was struck by a bullet on Sunday morning in the Roseland neighborhood, according to Chicago police.
The incident involved a 46-year-old man who was traveling on the CTA Red Line near 95th Street at approximately 8:49 a.m. Police reports indicate that individuals in three vehicles on the Dan Ryan Expressway were firing weapons. A bullet penetrated the train’s window, resulting in the man sustaining cuts to his face and body from the shattered glass.
Following the incident, the injured passenger was transported to Trinity Hospital, where medical staff reported his condition as good.
The vehicles involved reportedly fled the scene, and Area 2 detectives are currently leading the investigation into the event.
