A tragic incident unfolded in Houston, Texas, when a father was killed during a carjacking on Saturday afternoon. Authorities have charged a repeat offender, who was on probation, with the murder.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office reported that Louis Erebia, aged 56, tracked down his stolen vehicle and confronted the suspect, London Hogan Sr. The encounter turned fatal when Hogan allegedly shot and killed Erebia. Despite being rushed to a local hospital, Erebia was pronounced dead. Another man was also shot but is expected to recover.
The Sheriff’s Office revealed to FOX26 that the incident began while Erebia’s son was refueling their Chevy Silverado. Hogan allegedly brandished a firearm and seized control of the pickup truck. Erebia, along with a friend, utilized GPS technology to trace the vehicle to its location.
“Louis Erebia was killed on Saturday afternoon,” deputies confirmed, describing the chain of events.
The pursuit led to a collision between Erebia’s vehicle and the stolen Chevy Silverado, disabling Erebia’s car. Following the crash, Erebia chased after a male and female suspect who had exited the truck. Hogan then reportedly fired multiple gunshots.
Hogan faces serious charges including murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.
