The Trump administration’s stance is that gender-transition treatments pose risks to minors. As such, these subpoenas from the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas aim to gather patient information from these hospitals.
At the core of Mount Sinai’s response is a firm commitment to patient privacy. A hospital spokesperson, Lucia Lee, stated that the intention is to provide only “de-identified” information, eliminating personal details if required to comply.
