The event began with Madonna starting her performance in the tunnel before moving onto the field, receiving cheers from the audience. Shakira and Burna Boy energized the crowd with the World Cup anthem “Dai Dai,” backed by dancers. The performance concluded with children singing about unity, joined by several performers. Although some compared it favorably to Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl show, others criticized its 27-minute length. Former English soccer player Wayne Rooney called it “crap” during a BBC broadcast.

Despite mixed reactions, many felt the show was well-executed, flowing smoothly without excessive length. Inside the stadium, audiences enjoyed the novelty and spectacle. As for the final match itself, Argentina and Spain took time to find rhythm, leading to limited scoring opportunities. Nevertheless, the success of the show suggests future World Cups will incorporate similar halftime performances.
