WWE Stars Share Mixed Views of Atlantic City

1 month ago 0

Atlantic City, New Jersey, once thrived as a prime casino resort on the East Coast. Although it still hosts notable hotels and casinos and offers free beach access, the city’s reputation has suffered due to crime and corruption.

During a recent WWE event at Atlantic City, WWE star Grayson Waller voiced his opinion of the city. Known for his persona as an ‘Australian heel’, Waller disparaged the beach town in a social media video, calling it the ‘saddest city in America’. He remarked, “It’s like Las Vegas for people who have given up on life.” Despite his criticism, the video’s backdrop was idyllic, showing Waller running along the beach.

Not everyone shares Waller’s view. Fellow WWE star Matt Cardona expressed nostalgia for Atlantic City, recalling his past performances with Game Changer Wrestling at the Showboat Hotel. The hotel’s ballroom once transformed into a wrestling ring for memorable independent matches. Cardona fondly stated, “Back in Atlantic City tonight for @WWE. Matt Cardona, the man, was born on Long Island. Matt Cardona, the pro wrestler, was born in AC!”

Atlantic City’s iconic Boardwalk Hall served as the venue for ‘Monday Night Raw’ and a taping of ‘Friday Night SmackDown’. The event brought contrasting reflections from the WWE stars, showcasing mixed sentiments about the city.
