Lake County Fair Continues in Crown Point

The Lake County Fair in Crown Point, a tradition since 1852, continues at the Lake County Fairgrounds, located at 889 S. Court St. This longstanding event runs through August 16.

Visitors can enjoy over 30 carnival rides, a car show, Sunday church services, live music, numerous games, and various food vendors. Tickets cost $8 for those aged 11 and older, while children 10 and under enter for free. Parking is complimentary. Admission and parking are free before 3 p.m. from Monday to Thursday.

Karen Mills Debuts at Theatre at the Center

Former women’s pro basketball star turned comedian, Karen Mills, makes her debut at the Theatre at the Center, located at the Center for Visual and Performing Arts, 1040 Ridge Road in Munster. The show is set for one performance at 7:30 p.m. this Friday.

Karen Mills, renowned for her national comedy tours, previously captivated audiences at the 3,500-seat Chicago Theatre in October 2023. DeMotte’s Annual Touch of Dutch Festival

DeMotte Chamber of Commerce presents the Touch of Dutch Festival, taking place on the second Saturday of August at Spencer Park in DeMotte, Indiana.

This family-oriented event attracts 10,000-12,000 visitors, featuring a parade, car show, live entertainment, crafts, food vendors, and kids’ activities. A beer garden and fireworks conclude the festivities. The festival, reflecting Dutch cultural heritage, ensures free admission, shuttle service, and adequate handicap parking.

Canterbury Theatre Presents “Red, White and Tuna”
