Vincent Pastore, ‘The Sopranos’ Star, Passes Away at 80

Actor Vincent Pastore, renowned for his role in The Sopranos, has died at the age of 80. His manager, Robert Attermann, confirmed the news, stating, “Vinny passed away either yesterday or today at home in The Bronx.” Attermann, who represented Pastore for over 30 years, spoke of the actor’s widespread recognition from The Sopranos, where he played the character Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero.

Pastore was celebrated for his significant role as part of Tony Soprano’s group before his character’s betrayal. Beyond The Sopranos, Pastore had roles in films like Goodfellas, A Bronx Tale, and Carlito’s Way, as well as television appearances in Blue Bloods and Law & Order. His most recent work included lending his voice to the series Yellowjackets.

Attermann remarked on Pastore’s passion for acting, highlighting his encouragement and mentorship of young actors. Pastore’s career also spanned participation in reality TV shows, including Dancing with the Stars and Celebrity Apprentice.

Attermann described Pastore as warm and respectful, noting his appreciation for fans and their support. “He treated everyone with warmth and respect,” Attermann added, expressing profound personal loss over Pastore’s passing.

He extended condolences to Pastore’s family, friends, colleagues, and fans, emphasizing the impactful legacy Pastore leaves behind. Vincent Pastore is survived by his daughter, Renee.
