The United States possesses a strong position in ongoing Middle East negotiations, according to Vice President JD Vance. In an interview with ‘The Ingraham Angle,’ Vance emphasized the Trump administration’s achievements regarding Iran.
He stated, ‘We have all the cards in the negotiation. While success is desired, the core mission—to prevent Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon—has been accomplished.’
Vance highlighted that successful negotiations would lead to Iran’s transformation. This includes ending its nuclear pursuits and ceasing support for disruptive proxies in the region. Such outcomes could allow Iran’s reintegration into the global economy, which he considers beneficial for both Americans and the region at large.
Vance remarked, ‘If Iran does not cooperate, their nuclear and conventional military capabilities remain destroyed, and the US retains a stronger stance.’
These comments were made as US envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner began discussions in Qatar. Current reports indicate the absence of direct high-level meetings between Washington and Tehran. Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman Majed Al-Ansari confirmed no scheduled direct meetings.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt noted Iran’s request for discussions. President Donald Trump and other officials have echoed similar sentiments.
