During a session in the Oval Office, Trump emphasized the ban citing the alleged long-term dissemination of misleading stories by these media organizations. He expressed frustration with their reporting practices.

CNN Responds to White House Ban

In retaliation, CNN critiqued Trump’s ban, labeling it as below the dignity of the office. Traditionally, CNN has been part of a select group of networks reporting globally with the president. Interestingly, CNN was set to lead pool coverage at the United Nations General Assembly despite the ban.

Defense of Press Freedom

Former White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, also present at the Oval Office event, defended Trump’s stance on press freedom. She insisted on Trump’s openness with the media, asserting that Trump remains accessible to reporters.

‘He has been more accessible and easier to talk to than any president in history,’ Sanders stated.
