President Trump urged the cancellation of a planned concert series celebrating the nation’s 250th anniversary, after several musicians opted out. The statement was made on Truth Social, where Trump suggested replacing the concert with a ‘MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN’ rally.
The concert series, organized by Freedom 250, was intended as part of the Great American State Fair on the National Mall, set to commence in late June. This 16-day exposition is a component of the celebrations marking America’s 250th birthday.
At least five musical acts have withdrawn from the event. Some artists stated they were unaware of the event’s connection to an initiative by the Trump administration.
Trump had earlier suggested on Truth Social that he could headline the event, asserting, ‘I am the Number One Attraction anywhere in the World, drawing larger audiences than Elvis in his prime.’ He proposed taking the place of the ‘highly paid, third rate artists.’
