Following his arrest, Romo released a statement on his Instagram account to his 658,000 followers. In it, he accepted responsibility for his actions. Romo also shared that his pain led to a dependence on medication and subsequently increased his reliance on alcohol.

“I own this completely,” Romo stated. He described his struggles with painkillers after multiple back surgeries ended his career prematurely. Romo emphasized the importance of taking full responsibility and making necessary changes.
