This is the case with a 1990-91 NBA Hoops card featuring former New York Knicks point guard Mark Jackson. This card has gained attention due to an unusual detail in the background.

The card depicts a game between the New York Knicks and the Los Angeles Clippers. Seated courtside are Erik and Lyle Menendez. These brothers later became infamous for the first-degree murder of their parents. This image was taken following their heinous crime, reportedly after using funds from a life insurance policy to purchase their seats.

Darren Rovell, a sports business analyst and memorabilia collector, possesses one of these cards. He shared his find with Craig Carton on OutKick’s “The Craig Carton Show.” Holding up the card, Rovell highlighted the unique feature: “Valid: Menendez brothers sit courtside,” which Carton read aloud in disbelief.

Rovell further explained to Carton, who was unfamiliar with the card’s backstory, that the photograph was taken after the Menendez brothers committed their crime. This revelation shocked Carton, prompting him to question if the brothers attended a Knicks game post-murder.

Both Lyle and Erik Menendez are serving prison terms of 50 years to life. They are seeking parole again, with a hearing set for March 2027.
