Streamer Sneako Faces Backlash Over Comments in NYC Livestream

Streamer Sneako is facing backlash following a recent livestream in New York City. During the broadcast, he declared the city the “Islamic Republic of New York-istan” and stated that Islam would be “in every household.” These comments quickly led to condemnation from right-wing figures.

The incident occurred during a Kick livestream as Egyptian fans celebrated a World Cup win over Australia in New York. According to Fox News, Sneako, whose real name is Nicolas Kenn De Balinthazy and who converted to Islam in 2023, made these remarks surrounded by celebrating Egypt supporters. The scene included drums, horns, and flags, and Sneako shouted “Allahu Akbar.”

In the clip, Sneako announced, “This is the Islamic Republic of New York-istan. Islam will be in every household. Inshallah the whole world will be Muslim.” He also referenced New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, the city’s first Muslim mayor, saying, “Welcome to Mamdani’s New York. You see this city? You see how it looks? Inshallah, your city looks just like this too.”

Alex Jones Calls for Deportation

The comments sparked an online backlash, with conservative commentators reacting strongly. Fox News reported that the clip received millions of views on platforms like Instagram and X. InfoWars founder Alex Jones responded with, “Deport him NOW!!” To which Elon Musk replied, “Yes!”

Sneako did not apologize or distance himself from the remarks. Instead, he seemed to embrace the controversy. Fox News noted that he posted, “Every knee will bow. Every tongue confess,” amid the uproar. In response to Musk’s comment to Jones, Sneako told Musk to “go back to Africa” and added, “This is my country.”

Sportskeeda reported that Musk called the situation “Troubling” in response to a post by author Gad Saad regarding religious demographics. Fox News added that other X users suggested Sneako be sent to Iran or called him derogatory names.

Sneako also posted again on X, stating, “Islamic Republic of Ameristan.” He added, “Inshallah your household hears the call to prayer blaring through the window 5x a day.” In response, Jones commented, “Now he is declaring America to be an ‘Islamic republic.’”

This dispute arises during increased attention on Mayor Mamdani, whose election itself became a national topic. During his victory speech, Mamdani described New York as “a city of immigrants” that will now be “led by an immigrant.” He is the first Muslim mayor and identifies as a democratic socialist. His platform focused on affordability, and his defeat of Andrew Cuomo sparked debate within the Democratic Party.
