South Park Creators Mock Lake Renaming by Trump

“South Park” co-creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone made a satirical statement addressing President Donald Trump’s decision to rename Lake Ontario to Lake America. This renaming was reportedly supported by both Apple Maps and Google Maps.

In their statement, Parker and Stone humorously commented, “Inspired by the bravery and patriotism of Apple and Google, we are changing the name of South Park to SOUTH AMERICA. We especially want to thank our parent company Paramount — a Skydance Capitulation.” This follows the series winning an Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program for its 27th season premiere in 2025, where Trump was depicted in bed with Satan, discussing a Jeffrey Epstein cover-up.

The episode also parodied Trump’s settlement with CBS and its parent company, Paramount Global, which had entered into a $1.5 billion agreement to stream the animated series on Paramount+ in 2025. Fox News Digital reached out to the White House, Apple, Google, and Paramount for comments.

Trump’s executive order last month renamed the lake on the U.S.-Canada border amid trading disagreements between the two nations. The order stated, “The United States is the greatest protector of the Great Lakes, including Lake Ontario. Without U.S. security and investment, this freshwater system would not be open for shipping, recreation, and responsible use to the same extent as today.”

Following the executive order, Apple Maps and Google Maps updated their platforms to show “Lake America.” Google added that U.S. users would see “Lake America,” Canadian users would see “Lake Ontario,” and users worldwide would see both. Apple Maps made similar adjustments.

This is not the first large-scale naming change by Trump’s administration. Previously, he renamed the Gulf of Mexico to the “Gulf of America” in 2025, to which the companies responded in a similar manner.
