Secretive Court Holds First Hearing in Deportation Case

1 week ago 0

A woman with lawful-permanent-resident status has been deported to Afghanistan. She conceded she was an ‘alien terrorist’ in a secretive federal court. This court was established three decades ago but conducted its first hearing this year, according to court records.

Nazira Haji Zada, the woman involved, acknowledged the charges during the proceedings. This case marks a notable moment for the court, drawing attention due to its long-standing yet inactive status until now.

The federal court operates with a high level of secrecy, reflective of its specialized focus on cases involving national security concerns. Despite being established thirty years ago, this was its inaugural hearing.

The deportation decision was made following the admission of her status in the court, highlighting the court’s role in enforcing national security measures.
