Robinson Defense Alleges Prosecutor Misconduct in High-Profile Case

7 days ago 0

Criminal defense attorney Josh Ritter appeared on ‘Fox & Friends Weekend’ to discuss the death penalty case of Tyler Robinson. The defense team claims prosecutor misconduct concerning comments made to the media. The case has drawn significant attention, particularly regarding the backlash faced by the Metcalf family following the Karmelo Anthony verdict.

Lance Twiggs, who is the transgender roommate and romantic partner of Tyler Robinson, received limited immunity for a statement he recorded and gave to authorities in April. This was revealed in a recent court filing. Twiggs’ statement and his communications with Robinson around the time of Charlie Kirk’s death are set to be used by prosecutors during the preliminary hearing in July.

On February 3, 2026, Tyler Robinson appeared in the 4th District Court in Provo for a hearing related to the alleged fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk. According to prosecutors, Twiggs provided his recorded statement under oath on April 20, 2026. He was cautioned that any false statements could result in charges of obstruction of justice. Twiggs was granted use-immunity by both the United States Attorney’s Office and the Utah County Attorney’s Office. This immunity prevents his statements from being used against him in court.

The story continues to develop with more details expected in the coming weeks.
