A recent disclosure has revealed that President Trump earned $2.2 billion during his first year back in the White House. Some supporters view this as proof of the business skills they admire in him. However, his earnings have been largely met with silence from his base, which has shown a willingness to rebel against policies they consider contrary to his promises to prioritize ordinary Americans.
Figures on the far right, including members of Congress, media voices, and activists, have expressed concerns over Trump’s actions in his presidency. They have criticized his decisions regarding Iran and demanded transparency in the Jeffrey Epstein files. Accusations suggest he is focusing on his own gains over voter needs.
Despite these criticisms, Trump’s significant earnings, reported recently, have faced little backlash from his usual far-right supporters. His involvement in the cryptocurrency industry, both as a participant and policymaker, has raised questions about conflicts of interest. Still, some view his financial success as expected due to his public persona as a wealthy businessman.
“Nobody who voted for Donald Trump — a guy with skyscrapers with his name on it, with a plane that has his name on it — is suspect of him making money,” Joe Borelli, the former New York City Council Republican leader and managing director of Chartwell Strategy Group, a lobbying firm, told CNN. “He made his whole career talking about how much money he makes.”
Financial disclosures indicate that Trump’s income includes approximately $1.4 billion from family-run cryptocurrency businesses. In 2025, a notable investment move came when a UAE-affiliated firm purchased a substantial share in World Liberty Financial, the Trump family’s main crypto company. He earned additional income from selling his $TRUMP memecoin and tokens issued by World Liberty.
While Trump is part of the crypto sector, he also influences the policies governing it. He has maintained that he does not manage the entities running his private businesses.
