Philadelphia Police Investigate Deaths of Two Missing Women

The Philadelphia police have launched an investigation into the deaths of two women following the discovery of images and videos at a residence in Philadelphia. These materials, which surfaced in an ongoing investigation of Eugene Horsch, seem to include images of the two missing women whose bodies have not yet been recovered.

Since June, Horsch’s residence in Olney has been under police scrutiny. The 44-year-old suspect is currently in custody over charges related to illegal firearms possession and false DEA and FBI credentials. As of Wednesday, no additional charges have been filed against Horsch.

Philadelphia Police Inspector Ray Evers, during a briefing on Wednesday, stated that the investigation revealed digital files showing two women, Maribel Fresses and Gabriella Amarando, believed to be deceased. Fresses vanished in 2018 at 27, and Amarando disappeared at 22 in 2012.

“I’m not going to get into exactly what I saw,” Evers mentioned. “It’s real dark. What we saw is these two girls alive; there is a period of time, and what appears to us is that they are deceased.”

Police have executed more than 95 search warrants on the house and its contents. The FBI is collaborating with local authorities in this extensive investigation. A staggering 600,000 images and 70,000 videos have been discovered on hard drives from the property.

Evers characterized the volume of digital evidence as “astonishing” and remarked that the investigation would be lengthy. He further commented on the unprecedented nature of the case, indicating it was entirely new terrain for the local homicide unit.

“Usually, when we have a homicide investigation, we have a body. We have body parts. This time we do not.”
