The New Orleans Saints have secured wide receiver Chris Olave with a four-year contract extension valued at up to $132 million, with $90 million guaranteed. This agreement was announced on Thursday and reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

On Friday, Saints head coach Kellen Moore addressed the significance of this signing for the team. He expressed enthusiasm, stating, “It’s awesome for our team, it’s awesome for Chris.” Moore praised Olave for his resilience and career achievements, mentioning the challenges Olave has faced and overcome.

Moore further commented on ProFootballTalk, “Just awesome for what he’s gone through in his career, the success he’s had, also the things he’s had to navigate. At the end of the day, when everyone is shooting for the same goal, it’s a matter of time before it gets figured out. Sometimes the business part takes a little precedence, which is fine. And I think everyone’s really, really excited for where this thing’s going.”

Olave’s performance in the 2025 season marked a strong comeback after being sidelined for much of 2024 due to concussion issues. In the 2025 season, Olave achieved career highs with 100 catches, 1,163 yards, and nine touchdowns.

The Saints are set to begin their 2026 regular season facing the Detroit Lions in Week 1, with the game scheduled for September 13.
