Pannone’s Perfect Game: A Historic Achievement

Thomas Pannone, a former Major League pitcher, achieved a remarkable milestone on Monday night. While playing for the Triple-A Nashville Sounds, he pitched a perfect game, leading his team to a 3-0 victory over the Durham Bulls. Pannone impressively retired all 27 batters on just 94 pitches, marking the first nine-inning single-pitcher perfect game in Minor League Baseball since 2017.

His performance is also one of just five solo perfect games in the 142-year history of the International League. Pannone’s career includes notable moments, such as carrying a no-hitter into the seventh inning during his MLB debut with the Toronto Blue Jays.

Career Journey

Since leaving Toronto in 2020, Pannone has been on a journey through the Cubs, Angels, and Yankees’ minor league systems. He also played in the Korean Baseball Organization. This year, he earned a spot start for the Milwaukee Brewers, marking his MLB return after three years and later returning to Triple-A.
