Mourning in Big Bear: A Community Remembers Bella Fanuele

In the town of Big Bear, an 18-year-old named Bella Fanuele is being remembered by family and friends after a tragic fall from a bridge support structure. Known as a local hangout for teens, this site became a place of sorrow after Fanuele’s death.

The incident occurred at Big Bear Dam, located at 37800 Big Bear Blvd. Deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department received a call on Tuesday around 11 p.m. about the accident. When authorities arrived, they found that Fanuele had fallen from the spot below Highway 18. Rescue teams, including the Big Bear Fire Department, reached her after descending the hill beneath the structure. Despite their efforts to save her, Fanuele was declared dead at the location.

The Sheriff’s Department stated that initial investigations showed no suspicious circumstances in her death.

“Bella was an aspiring baker, excited about starting college and opening a bakery,” stated a GoFundMe page dedicated to her memory.

Her family has expressed a desire to honor her dreams by creating a bakery named after her. It’s their way of keeping her memory alive.

On Wednesday, friends gathered at the site to leave flowers at a memorial. Residents shared that the area under the highway is a regular meeting spot for local youth.

Community members continue to mourn Bella Fanuele, remembering her aspirations and the bright future she hoped for.
