If the latest Monday Screencaps feels off, it might be because I’m working at 55%. I caught a school-borne bug from the kids. Saturday night was tough, and Sunday was rough with all the symptoms. Despite being uncomfortable, it’s not bad enough to skip putting out an edition of America’s Best Daily Column, as the readers have named it.

In brighter news, Screencaps Jr. achieved a milestone in his cross-country career. On Saturday, he finished with a time of 11:45:30, securing 6th place out of 238 runners. This was 30 seconds faster than his previous personal best. His team finished first, with our top runner clocking in at 10:49.60, just two seconds shy of the school record.

Youth Sports Drama

Wisconsin saw some drama during a youth football game. A parent stormed the field and tripped a 9-year-old player. Meanwhile, in Pittsburgh, a youth football coach lost control in the fourth quarter with the team down 7-0. The video uploader, Ryan Crux, blamed the coaches for the loss after they forfeited the match.

In contrast, the cross-country event was drama-free. No yelling parents were seen at the invitational.

We received a flyer about Screencaps Jr.’s 8th-grade D.C. trip. The only way to get details is by scanning a QR code, which then requires authorizing cookies. Linda Cohn’s Retirement

He noted a past revolt at ESPN over a news ticker crawl, fearing it would overshadow screen time and witty lines of the anchors. Lee criticized Cohn’s on-air presence and felt the focus was more on the anchors’ egos than delivering information.

Little League World Series

Mike N. caught the last inning of a Little League World Series game. Japan, down 0-2, had runners on 1st and 3rd when a player hit a single, bringing in a run. The emotional scene had Mike rooting for the young player. Meanwhile, I was recovering from my flu over the weekend.
