A tragic incident unfolded in Missouri when a mother of five, Shakeela Martin, 35, was fatally shot while buying slushies for two of her young children. The shooting occurred late Tuesday night outside a BP gas station located at South Florissant and Woodstock Roads in Ferguson. According to the Ferguson Police Department, an altercation inside the convenience store preceded the violence that spilled outside.
Martin, accompanied by her children aged 9 and 6, stopped at the gas station for frozen drinks on a warm evening. Gunfire erupted, and Martin became an unintended victim.
