Memphis Mother Faces Murder Charge After Fatal Shooting

A mother in Memphis, Kendra Scott, is facing charges of first-degree murder after allegedly shooting and killing a man in her home. Reports state that the man was found by Scott under her daughter’s bed.

According to an affidavit, Scott informed law enforcement, “I saw a dude under my kids’ bed, and I did what I had to do.” Police identified the man as Rodderius Morton, who was found by officers in Scott’s front yard with a gunshot wound to the back of the head.

Authorities revealed that a juvenile witness saw Scott yelling “Who’s at my house?” as she entered the home, subsequently discovering Morton hiding under the bed.

Morton allegedly entered the property through the back door after being invited. The witness reported hearing a heated exchange between Scott and Morton before the shooting occurred on the front porch. Scott had no weapon found on her when Morton was shot.

Past incidents indicated that Scott had expressed intentions of using violence if she found an uninvited male in her house. A witness mentioned Scott’s previous statement, “If I see a boy in my house, I will put a hole in their [expletive].”

As the investigation continues, Scott faces additional charges for employing a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony. She remains held without bond while awaiting further legal proceedings. Police have responded to inquiries from Fox News Digital for more details.
