Linda McMahon Criticizes Democrats Over Women’s Sports Concerns

Education Secretary Linda McMahon emphasizes the importance of safeguarding women’s sports following the Supreme Court’s decision upholding transgender sports bans. She focuses on the implications for female athletes, raising concerns about fairness, potential lost opportunities, and safety in locker rooms. McMahon criticizes Democrats for neglecting these issues and reiterates the Trump administration’s commitment to protecting women’s rights under Title IX.

The “Protect College Sports Act” is making its way through Congress. If it passes both houses, it will move to President Donald Trump for approval. President Trump has expressed strong support for this legislation. He recently urged Congress to pass the bill on Truth Social.

“The Protect College Sports Act is a great Bill, and the Senate will hopefully stay in D.C. until it passes,” President Trump wrote. “Without this Bill, millions of young Athletes will be hurt, programs will be canceled, Women’s and Olympic Sports will go away, the fans will be robbed, and Universities will go broke. Nobody has done more to protect Women Athletes than me.”

On Friday, President Trump voiced his support for the Protect College Sports Act in a post on Truth Social. He reinforced this stance during an event welcoming U.S. Olympians to the White House Rose Garden.

In a related effort, Republican senators have filed an amendment to prevent the college sports bill from overriding state women’s sports laws. President Trump emphasized bipartisan cooperation in Congress to send the bill to his desk.

“I’m urging the House and the Senate to come together, bipartisan if possible, and it looks like they have done, to send the bill to my desk and I will sign it,” Trump said. “We have to get that done. If we don’t, we’re very foolish.”

Additionally, the White House released a memo to clarify misconceptions, confirming that the Protect College Sports Act does not override state laws addressing gender participation in sports. States maintain the authority to legislate these issues.
