Kennedy Center Board Appeals Federal Order on Trump’s Name Removal

2 weeks ago 0

The board of trustees at the Kennedy Center has moved to challenge a federal judge’s order mandating the removal of former President Donald Trump’s name from the center’s exterior.

On Thursday, the trustees voted to request a stay of the order issued by U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper. The judge’s directive required the removal by Friday, but the board is appealing the decision, arguing that the renaming of the center was unlawful.

The decision to appeal was confirmed by an attendee of the meeting and someone informed by a meeting attendee. Both sources spoke under the condition of anonymity due to concerns over potential retribution.
