For the first time, three jurors from the Lindsay Clancy murder trial are discussing the case publicly after a mistrial was declared last week. They revealed that the inability to reach a unanimous verdict stemmed from one juror’s refusal to agree despite recognizing reasonable doubt.
According to interviews conducted by NBC10 Boston, the foreperson and two other jurors stated that one member of the panel admitted to having reasonable doubt about Clancy’s guilt but still would not find her not guilty by reason of insanity. This disagreement led to the mistrial following several days of intense deliberations.
The trial received significant attention due to the case’s details. Lindsay Clancy, a Massachusetts mother, faced charges of murdering her three young children in January 2023. She admitted responsibility but claimed she was not guilty by reason of insanity, citing severe mental illness at the time. Prosecutors, however, argued she was legally accountable for the deaths.

Attorney Kevin Reddington, representing Lindsay Clancy, remains engaged in the case. He has hinted at the potential for a deal and hopes that the prosecution will reconsider its approach.
Last week’s mistrial was declared after jurors informed the court of their deadlock. It is not yet determined if prosecutors plan to retry the case, leaving the future of legal proceedings uncertain.
