Judge Reyes grew frustrated with Michael Robertson, the government lawyer, as he failed to provide clear answers regarding the president’s intentions to transform the East Potomac Golf Links into a championship-level course. This project is part of a series of initiatives undertaken by Trump during his second term to revamp areas of the capital.
Reyes pointed out similarities to other instances where Trump reportedly initiated construction projects without proper governmental acknowledgment, such as the ballroom intended to replace the East Wing of the White House. She emphasized that public declarations made by Trump and the Secretary of the Interior contradict the courtroom claims of inaction.
During the session, Judge Reyes dismissed the government’s denials, observing substantial indications of Trump’s advanced plans to redesign the peninsula’s golf course into one suitable for professional tournaments.
