Arrest in California Mother’s Death
A California man, Safford Wolfson, has been arrested in relation to his mother’s death in Laguna Beach. Angela Caprioli, 61, was found deceased at her home. Local police identified Wolfson, 36, as a person of interest before his arrest on suspicion of murder.
Neighbor Dustin Pettit witnessed a hostile interaction between Wolfson and Caprioli days before her death. He noted, ‘She turned around and went inside and slammed the door, like she was fed up with whatever was going on.’

Police responded to the death investigation shortly after 11 a.m. on Dunning Drive. The circumstances of Caprioli’s death are still under investigation. Pettit mentioned that Wolfson had moved into the home around six months prior and kept mostly to himself, saying, ‘He would come outside, smoke a cigarette and play some guitar.’
Social media accounts linked to Wolfson suggest he identifies as transgender. The New York Post reported a Facebook post from Wolfson in 2024 stating, ‘Not even my mom wants to hang out with me man… talk about lame-o!’
