Incident on American Airlines Flight Involves Unruly Passenger

Law enforcement responded to an incident on an American Airlines flight arriving at Miami International Airport late Friday. The response followed reports of a female passenger undressing and behaving indecently during the flight.

Flight 1779, operated by American Airlines, originated from Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport. The flight departed at approximately 9 p.m. EDT on September 11, 2025, nearly two hours later than scheduled. It arrived in Miami around 11:23 p.m. EDT.

While en route to Florida, flight attendants reported a disturbance involving a passenger in row 9. The Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting System (ACARS) logs indicated that the lead flight attendant informed the cockpit crew of the situation. The passenger, seated in 9D, had removed all clothing and engaged in indecent behavior visible to others.

The incident was communicated to American Airlines’ Integrated Operations Center. Law enforcement was requested upon the plane’s arrival.

Despite the disturbance, the flight continued to Miami without diverting and concluded its journey at Gate D2, Terminal N, as indicated by the flight tracking service, Flightera. Upon landing, law enforcement officers were on standby and took the passenger into custody.
