Haley Furst’s Journey from Transgender Atheism to Christian Faith

Sitting in a sunlit room, Haley Furst reflects on her transformative journey. Once identifying as a transgender, atheist, and communist supporter, she has now embraced Christianity.

“I believed in anarchal communism, was an atheist, and held far-left views,” Furst told Fox News Digital. “Now, I believe in biblical values and what that entails.”

Furst’s upbringing in Alberta, Canada, introduced her to conservatism early on. She described a stark contrast when transitioning to public high school, encountering discussions on gender liberation and sexual topics, including Gay Straight Alliance clubs.

Furst noted how these conversations were completely absent at her private Christian school, and she described the transition as a culture shock.

During her experiences, she identified as a transgender man for about five to six years.

“I was born female…but for years I presented as male,” she said, citing hormone treatments and surgery.

A coworker’s reading from Romans 8:38 ignited Furst’s faith and prompted reconsideration of her beliefs.

Her reconnection with God began personally; she prayed alone, doubting Jesus’s acceptance but hoping for a connection.

The process was gradual, leading Furst to embrace her identity as a woman.

Furst expressed concerns over early exposure of sexual identity conversations with children, noting potential manipulation of minors.

“Early exposure to these conversations slowly manipulated me,” she stated.

Now more critical of adults sharing sexual identity discussions with minors, Furst warns parents about the influence of such content.

She emphasizes the importance of age-appropriate dialogue and parental discretion.

Conversations on detailed sexual identity should be reserved for families, not educators, for deciding appropriate timing and context.
