The New York Giants faced challenges during their Monday night game against the Los Angeles Rams. Starting quarterback Jaxson Dart exited early in the first quarter due to a sprained MCL.
The issues for the Giants worsened soon after. Star wide receiver Malik Nabers experienced severe pain following an incomplete pass attempt from backup quarterback Jameis Winston. Medical staff assisted Nabers on the sidelines and initially listed him as questionable for return. Fortunately, he resumed play in the second quarter.
Postgame, the 23-year-old receiver shared with reporters that he had reset his shoulder on his own before rejoining the game. “My shoulder’s okay. Gonna get an X-ray on it, see what’s going on. I was out there, trying to just come back out. We had lost [Jaxson Dart], so I didn’t want to give the team another loss,” Nabers stated.
Despite returning to the field, Nabers was limited during his “Monday Night Football” performance with only one catch for one yard. The Giants suffered a significant 28-6 defeat.
The team now plans to regroup and prepare for their Week 3 clash against the Tennessee Titans scheduled for Sunday.
