The Heartbreaking Case of Robin Doyle
In a separate tragic incident, Robin Doyle, a well-loved gas station clerk in North Carolina, was discovered dead after going missing. The Catawba County Sheriff’s Office reported her disappearance on July 28. Her body was later discovered in a wooded area in northeastern Catawba County.
Suspect Arrested
Leroy Allen Loper, 54, has been apprehended and charged with felony murder, first-degree kidnapping, and concealment of death in connection with Doyle’s death. Loper is held without bond at the Catawba County Detention Facility. He has a criminal history including previous felony convictions for kidnapping and sexual offenses.
“We are deeply saddened for Robin Doyle’s family as they endure this loss,” said Catawba County Sheriff Don Brown. “While charges mark progress, they cannot alleviate the family’s pain. This investigation remains active, pursuing justice fully.”

Robin Doyle was described by those who knew her as kind and generous. She worked behind the counter at the Propst Superette, where a message read, “Robin, the world wasn’t ready for you to leave, but heaven needed you home.” Her presence is deeply missed by her community.
