Fraud Task Force Saves Billions by Targeting Obamacare Fraud

16 minutes ago 0

The U.S. is witnessing significant savings as authorities tackle extensive exploitation of the healthcare program. The Fraud Task Force has halted Obamacare enrollment for about 750,000 individuals suspected of fraudulent activity. Led by Secretary Kennedy and Dr. Oz, this initiative involves verifying residency and income eligibility for 419,000 other enrollees, ensuring funds go to those who qualify.

Vice President JD Vance announced that his White House Fraud Task Force will eliminate 750,000 fraudulent enrollees from Obamacare, predicting $2.2 billion in taxpayer savings. Additional verification measures will apply to another 419,000 people.

Vance stated, “We’ll confirm that they are legal U.S. residents and meet the income requirements for Obamacare benefits.” He explained that the $2.2 billion saved equates to the healthcare benefits of 550,000 American children, previously misallocated to fraudsters.

At a news conference, Vance, along with Dr. Mehmet Oz, emphasized the extent of the fraud. Oz highlighted a fraudulent network involving 40 agents who falsely enrolled 50,000 individuals into Obamacare, with many lacking required citizenship or income eligibility.

Oz pointed out that a normal 1% of Obamacare enrollees usually lack a Social Security number. However, over 1.1 million enrollees this year fall into this category, with 35% never having used the program—an indicator of fraud. Oz also detailed the case of fraudster Cory Lloyd and his accomplice Stephen Strong, who manipulated vulnerable people to enroll them for personal gain.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) revealed that Lloyd and Strong were convicted on multiple counts related to fraud and sentenced to 20 years in prison, with a restitution order of $180.6 million.
