A four-year-old boy was found with a gunshot wound to his head in a Far South Side home on Tuesday afternoon. Authorities reported that officers arrived at the residence located in the 2200 block of East 99th Street in the South Deering neighborhood around 4 p.m. The boy was then taken to Comer Children’s Hospital, where his condition was listed as critical.
A firearm was discovered at the scene. Calumet Area detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident to determine what led to the shooting.
