Police body camera footage captures the moment Florida deputies apprehended a Canadian woman who allegedly provided a false identity during a traffic stop. Investigators uncovered 12 fraudulent identification cards in her vehicle.

Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister shared the bodycam video from July 29, which shows deputies pulling over a vehicle in Tampa due to non-functioning taillights and tag lights.

The driver, Bryce Swanson, 28, initially claimed she was “Brianna Valenzuela” and told deputies she possessed a driver’s license but didn’t have it on her.

The video reveals deputies discovering numerous fraudulent identification cards in the vehicle during the traffic stop.

Swanson confessed she did not have an ID and had never owned a valid driver’s license, despite her earlier assertion. Sheriff Chronister stated, “A search of her vehicle uncovered 12 driver’s licenses with her photo but different names and dates of birth.”

Swanson is identified by authorities as a Canadian national who overstayed her visa.

The body camera footage depicts a deputy interrogating Swanson about her identity after she mentioned visiting Florida from New York in a rental car.

Swanson responded, “I live in New York. I’m here in Florida visiting friends and stuff right now.”

The deputy noted her lack of New York identification, leading to skepticism regarding her story.

The officer stated, “Your story’s not making a lot of sense to me. You say you live in New York, but you don’t have any ID from New York.”

Upon further inquiry about her claim to reside in New York without identification, Swanson explained, “I’ve never had a driver’s license or anything like that.”

Deputies proceeded to search the car, discovering multiple fraudulent identification cards.

According to authorities, “All these are fake,” one deputy remarked before Swanson was arrested.

Swanson was taken to the Orient Road Jail, charged with driving without a valid license and providing a false name to law enforcement.

She remains in custody without bond owing to an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainer, as shown in jail records.
