Far-right activist Jake Lang was arrested on Saturday after vehicles associated with him drove onto a sidewalk near a crowd outside Minneapolis City Hall, according to the Minneapolis Police Department.

Lang and his supporters arrived near City Hall at about 11:50 a.m. local time. Police reported that both vehicles drove onto the sidewalk towards the gathered crowd before officers intervened and directed them away.
The police, with help from the Minnesota State Patrol and Bloomington police, stopped the vehicles. Authorities arrested all occupants, including Lang, on probable cause riot, and impounded the vehicles. Additional arrests occurred near City Hall.
The incident followed a rally organized by Lang that attracted opposing protesters. Social media and local news shared videos showing tensions between the groups, with police maintaining separation.

Lang is known for his participation in the January 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol riot. He faced charges for actions during the riot but was pardoned by President Donald Trump in January 2025. Since his release, Lang has stayed active in conservative and far-right circles. He organizes demonstrations, speaks at rallies, and launched a Republican U.S. Senate campaign in Florida. His rhetoric has drawn criticism for racism and antisemitism.
