Experiences and Stories from a Fox News Contributor

In early 2008, I joined Fox News as a contributor. I was impressed by the network’s adaptability and creativity. It allowed me to broaden my expertise from infectious diseases to health policy and Obamacare. I explored different areas of journalism as well. When sent to Phoenix to review Sen. John McCain’s health records, I ended up delivering on-air reports.

By 2012, I reported for the network more actively. In the spring of 2013, during the Boston Marathon, two brothers carried out the largest terrorist attack on U.S. soil since 9/11. I persuaded our senior executives to let me cover the story from Boston. While traveling, I arranged an exclusive interview with a survivor at Massachusetts General Hospital. She had suffered severe leg injuries, and her friend had carried her against traffic to the hospital. Facing the camera, she declared, “We can’t let the terrorists win. We must stay strong and not be afraid. Boston is a great city.”

A decade later, I was sent to East Palestine, Ohio, after a train wreck. Joined by a skilled field producer, I interviewed locals affected by toxic smoke. People struggled with breathing issues, and some developed rashes from river water. The long-term health consequences were uncertain. Emergency rooms labeled the issues as “situational anxiety.”

Fox’s success relies on its executives, producers, and bookers. They have the foresight and dedication to reveal overlooked stories. Our team forms a supportive family. When my father passed away at age 102, Fox management, including the CEO, attended his funeral.

Senior Correspondent Ben Hall exemplifies the dedication at Fox. In Ukraine, 2022, after surviving a car bombing that killed his colleagues, Hall credits the support and coordination within our team and crucial help from Chief National Security Correspondent Jennifer Griffin for his survival.

“At this moment of trying to stay strong, I think of how I am going to get home,” Hall shared about the attack in Ukraine. “A car of Ukrainian special forces comes by, doesn’t notice us, but later returns due to engine trouble.”

He regards this event as a sign from God. Despite severe injuries, such as shrapnel to the eye and losing a leg, Hall feels strengthened by visions of his daughter and the presence of his late father.
