A source informed Fox News Digital that the couple plans to spend the winter months in Montecito, confirming that their return to the Golden State is meant to be temporary. “Ellen and Portia love the Cotswolds and can’t wait to return to England,” the insider revealed.

Ellen and Portia previously decided to sell their Montecito estate in August 2024, opting for a residence in the U.K. This decision was initially envisioned as a brief getaway, but it turned into a more permanent move following the results of the November 2024 election in the United States. Ellen shared, “We got here the day before the election and woke up to lots of texts from our friends with crying emojis, and I was like, ‘He got in.’ And we’re like, ‘We’re staying here.'”

Life in the English Countryside

DeGeneres has largely kept the details of her life in England private but frequently updates her fans on social media about her farm adventures. “It’s absolutely beautiful here,” she remarks. “We’re not used to this kind of beauty.
