Dan Dakich Criticizes Indiana Fever Coach’s Reaction to GOP Letter

6 days ago 0

Sports analyst Dan Dakich has criticized Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White for her evasive response to a GOP letter sent to the WNBA. The letter raises concerns about the treatment of Caitlin Clark, with some reports suggesting racial motivations behind certain attacks. Dakich is questioning why the coach did not defend her star player more robustly and why the league hasn’t shown stronger support, particularly given that Congress has entered the discussion.

Meanwhile, the Seattle Storm struggled at home, going into their matchup against the Indiana Fever with a 4-10 record at Climate Pledge Arena. The Fever secured a 103-95 victory, led by Caitlin Clark’s impressive 32-point performance. Seattle’s Natisha Hiedeman topped all scorers with 33 points, though it wasn’t enough to clinch a win.

Alongside Clark, Kelsey Mitchell delivered a stellar performance, shooting 9 for 18 from the field and scoring 28 points. Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham also made an impact against the Seattle Storm.

The Fever surged to a 17-point lead after the first quarter. However, Seattle fought back post-halftime, reducing the gap to four points by the fourth quarter. Despite their efforts, the Storm could not complete the comeback, and Indiana improved their season record to 18-10.

“Caitlin Clark has given a straightforward assessment of her own performance, highlighting her efficiency in the Fever’s win over the Storm,” stated an analyst.

During the game, Fever star center Aliyah Boston faced a setback when she sustained an apparent knee injury. The injury occurred in the second quarter when Boston landed awkwardly after setting a screen and getting caught up with Seattle player Flau’jae Johnson.

Boston’s misstep led her to fall hard on the court, clutching her right knee, and game officials called a foul on the play. She received assistance to leave the court and was ruled out after initially being marked as questionable to return.

Indiana’s road trip on the West Coast will continue with a game against the Portland Fire. Chantz Martin reports for Fox News Digital.
