Dan Bongino Criticizes Democrats’ Allegiance to Power

Dan Bongino, former FBI Deputy Director, has accused leading Democrats of prioritizing power over principles. Bongino claims that prominent Democrats have turned against Senate candidate Graham Platner only after realizing his chances of winning have diminished.

“There were no principles involved here at all,” Bongino remarked on “The Ingraham Angle”. He stated, “The left are the anti-anti-communist. They’re just against us and whatever we stand for to advance their communist agenda, and this guy was a tool that’s no longer sharp for them.”

Dan Bongino, previously the deputy director of the FBI, shared these views during a press conference at the Department of Justice, held on December 4, 2025. The conference announced the arrest of Brian Cole Jr., accused of placing pipe bombs near political committee offices.

Several influential Democrats, including New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, Rep. Ro Khanna of California, and Senators Bernie Sanders of Vermont and Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, have withdrawn their support for Platner following an initial accusation of rape.

Platner now faces additional allegations. According to the Washington Post, Platner was accused of removing condoms during consensual sex with ex-girlfriend Lyndsey Fifield, after she explicitly requested their use.

These allegations have severely impacted Platner’s campaign, which aims to unseat incumbent Senator Susan Collins. Platner’s campaign has denied all accusations, labeling the second claim as “categorically false and politically motivated.” Despite these challenges, Platner’s campaign has not responded to previous inquiries from Fox News Digital.

Bongino, along with other Republicans, has criticized Democrats for their sudden change in stance regarding Platner.

“This is not about any principle whatsoever. It’s not about Platner’s position on women or taxes or anything like that. This is about a simple power equation,” Bongino asserted.

He further explained, “Platner was an acquisition tool for more power for this collectivist communist left. That is it. The sole principle in their triage of needs was power, and he was a useful tool to get there.”
