Spencer Pratt has openly criticized California Governor Gavin Newsom’s endorsement of Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, describing them as ‘alleged criminal partners.’ The discussion intensified as Kayleigh McEnany highlighted the findings regarding a controversial homelessness initiative spearheaded by Bass. The program reportedly utilized $418 million but effectively aided only 10% of Los Angeles’s homeless population.
Pratt, known for his critical stance, has accused local officials of corruption and has brought attention to the mistreatment of dogs in Skid Row. His faith-driven mission is focused on enhancing safety for mothers and children in Los Angeles. Notably, Pratt’s campaign has gained momentum in recent polls against Mayor Bass.
The electoral race is intensifying as Los Angeles candidates canvass the city before the impending Election Day, which is gearing up to be unexpectedly competitive. With no candidate likely to secure over 50% of the vote, a runoff seems imminent. Karen Bass, vying for a second term, is up against Spencer Pratt and city council member Nithya Raman in the primary election.
Recent surveys indicate that the race remains tight, with Bass relying on support from high-profile Democrats like former Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Newsom. Over the past weekend, she visited Yosemite Recreation Center in Eagle Rock, where she served tacos while donning an apron that read ‘Common Sense and Carne Asada.’
In a speech captured on Instagram Live, Bass criticized Pratt, labeling him a failed reality TV star seeking fame and indirectly referenced President Donald Trump as a cautionary tale of reality stars in political power.
Pratt responded by accusing fellow candidate Nithya Raman of misrepresenting her campaign efforts. Raman encouraged her supporters to continue their efforts despite substantial spending against her.
Spencer Pratt, a Republican, has intensified his campaign by criticizing Bass’s handling of the January 2025 wildfires, which affected key areas including his residence in Pacific Palisades. He has also addressed issues concerning homelessness, drug addiction, and crime in Los Angeles.
Despite gaining traction with endorsements from other reality TV personalities and public figures, Pratt faces substantial challenges in a city where Democratic candidates have traditionally been dominant.
