During China’s largest AI gathering in Shanghai, Chinese President Xi Jinping highlighted the need for increased global collaboration on AI development and governance. He addressed significant fears surrounding AI, including the potential for ‘loss of control.’

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres, Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, China’s Xi Jinping, and Pakistan Deputy Prime Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar were among the prominent figures present at the World AI Conference.

Xi Jinping articulated a global vision for AI, underscoring the necessity for ‘equitable’ access to the vital technology. He advocated for a harmonious balance between innovation and security. This stance reflects China’s ambition to rival the United States in AI leadership.
