Chicagoland High School Football Teams Perform in Week 4

Mount Carmel 56, Marist 26

Ty Kennedy of Mount Carmel is proving to be a significant asset for the team. During the game against Marist, he recorded four catches for 66 yards, two of which were touchdowns. The match concluded with Mount Carmel securing a 56-26 victory over Marist. Brady Cloherty contributed with 295 yards through the air, completing 18 of 33 passes and scoring five touchdowns, helping the Caravan achieve their fourth consecutive win. The team scored 28 points in the last eight minutes after Marist narrowed the gap to 28-20.

Homewood-Flossmoor 35, Sandburg 13

Homewood-Flossmoor’s Vito Pickard Jr. made a mark with five tackles and a fumble return touchdown during their 35-13 win over Sandburg. Rahsaan Coleman, the senior quarterback, connected with junior John Gadson for a 64-yard touchdown. This victory served as a rebound for the Vikings after their previous 38-7 loss to Lincoln-Way East.

Lockport 38, Lincoln-Way West 15

Griffin Russell of Lockport showcased his skills by throwing for 221 yards and three touchdowns, and scoring a rushing touchdown. His contributions played a key role in defeating Lincoln-Way West, 38-15. The TD passes went to Andrew Maloney, Donavan Gray, and Jaxson Little, with additional support from Prince Nartey’s 54-yard touchdown run.

Jacobs 31, Burlington Central 27

Aiden Brunner delivered a winning performance for Jacobs, scoring two second-half touchdowns, including a game-winner with only 1.8 seconds left. This led to a 31-27 comeback win against Burlington Central. Austin Stennett completed 19 of 31 passes for 263 yards with a 74-yard touchdown to Owen Crouch, aiding the team’s successful recovery from a 17-point deficit.

Naperville North 21, Naperville Central 14

Jayke Collins had an outstanding game, rushing 25 times for 136 yards and scoring three touchdowns. His performance was pivotal in Naperville North’s 21-14 win over Naperville Central, marking his career-best achievement. A substantial audience of 6,000 attended the DuPage Valley Conference opener at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium, witnessing the Huskies’ third consecutive win.

Zion-Benton 42, Stevenson 23

Zion-Benton’s Kevin James successfully shifted defensive focus from teammate Jamere French, a promising Ohio recruit. James caught two touchdown passes, supporting the Zee-Bees’ 42-23 victory over Stevenson. French also contributed significantly with 297 rushing yards and four touchdowns.

Prospect 35, Fremd 21

Senior safety Caden Moran’s defensive efforts, including three interceptions, were crucial for Prospect’s 35-21 victory over Fremd.
