Charley Hull’s Prank on Caddie Draws Reactions

Charley Hull, a prominent golf player, recently pulled a prank on her caddie, Adam Woodward. The incident stirred reactions among social media users. Hull, unfazed by the criticism, stood by her actions.

Hull, 30, gave Woodward a fake scratch-off lottery ticket, leading him to believe he had won $100,000. She shared this story with the media before the Women’s British Open at Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club in England. While some criticized her, Hull remained nonchalant. ‘No, and people that have complaints about it, I’d say loosen up,’ she responded to reporters when asked if she felt any regret.

Hull interacted with Woodward during the third round of The Amundi Evian Championship 2026 in Evian-les-Bains, France. She explained that Woodward handled the prank well, finding humor in the situation. ‘He thought it was funny after, he’s not uptight, like it’s a joke,’ Hull commented. She added, ‘If people don’t like it they can lump it.’ Hull mentioned feeling a bit guilty for Woodward but emphasized her focus on having a successful week, promising to buy him additional scratch cards.

Hull disclosed purchasing the fake ticket on a Monday and handing it to Woodward the next day. Woodward initially believed he had won big, celebrating in the player’s lounge, only to discover the ticket was fake. Hull recounted with a laugh how Woodward reacted, ‘He’s scratching it… and he’s like, Oh my gosh, I’ve won,’ and he nearly quit his job upon realizing the prank.

Despite the jest, Hull and Woodward aimed to perform well at the Women’s Open, with Hull tied for seventh at 2-under par after two rounds, four strokes behind the leader.
