Cedric Alexander Defends TNA X Division Championship in Ultimate X Match

1 month ago 0

Cedric Alexander successfully defended his Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) X Division Championship for the first time at Slammiversary on Sunday. He faced the challenging task of retaining the title in an Ultimate X match.

The match marked the 55th Ultimate X event in TNA history, with competitors including Amazing Red, Frankie Kazarian, Fabian Aichner, Leon Slater, KC Navarro, and Mr. Elegance. It was particularly noteworthy as Red made his return to the TNA ring after approximately 15 years.

Competitors needed to climb the pillars and navigate the cables above the ring to seize the championship belt. Alexander, Kazarian, Red, and Aichner simultaneously went for the belt at one point. Alexander slipped but managed to take down Aichner, while Red and Kazarian both fell to the mat. This moment allowed Red and Kazarian to display their capabilities.

Mr. Elegance attempted to capitalize on the situation but was thwarted by Navarro. Red, locked in battle with Navarro, delivered a Code Red. He performed the same move on Kazarian before trying to claim the title, but Slater intercepted him.

Slater gained momentum but found his path blocked. He executed a double blockbuster maneuver against Aichner, Elegance, Kazarian, and Navarro, then raced Red to the title. Slater successfully unhooked the belt while both he and Red hung from the wires.

Alexander entered the ring and snatched the belt from Slater’s grasp. The victory was awarded to Alexander, as neither Slater nor Red had touched the mat. Alexander’s win continued his reign as champion, having initially claimed the title from Slater.

The action-packed event showcased wrestlers vying for the prestigious X Division Championship, highlighting Cedric Alexander’s prowess in TNA wrestling.
